Ballard on April 16 – The Rams took a small group of athletes to Ballard on Tuesday and did very well. Although they didn’t run many events, every event brought home the first place medal.
Here are some standouts for the night:
Colby Kafer won the 100 meters in a time of 11.28. All times were hand timed so we have to add .24 seconds to them to make the FAT time… so his time is 11.52. It was his first time running the open 100 meters this year.
Tyler Miller threw the shot put 52’ 3”. This is also a personal record as well as a school record. The old GC shot put record was held by Alex Rasmussen 48’ 113/4”. That puts him tied for 18th in the state in open class.
Carter Morton ran the 110 meter high hurdles for the first time this year and got a personal and season record with a time of 15.28. With the .24 sec added on to it for FAT time, it is 15.52 which puts him in fourth place in 2A.
Kafer won the long jump with a leap of 20’ 6”. Morton topped the field in the high jump with a leap of 6’ 4” which was a new meet record.
Greene County also won the 4 x 100 meter relay in 44.94 seconds. ~courtesy of The Scranton Journal
